British Columbia is a member of the International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA). Motor carriers operating qualified vehicles in British Columbia must report all miles traveled and fuel purchased in the state on their quarterly IFTA returns.
Fuel purchased in British Columbia generates a tax credit at the rate of $0.2770/gallon for diesel. If you travel more miles in British Columbia than the fuel you purchased would cover, you'll owe additional tax. If you purchased more fuel than you used, you'll receive a credit.
