How it works

Four steps, every quarter.

IFTA wants the same things every time: miles by state, gallons by state, and a record. That's what the calculator collects, in that order.

01

Log your trips

Enter origin, destination, and total miles. If you already have the state-by-state split, drop it in. If not, the calculator splits the miles between your start and end state to get you going.

02

Add fuel purchases

For each fuel-up, log the state or province, the gallons, and the price if you've got the receipt. The total computes itself.

03

See the numbers

Your fleet MPG comes from total gallons and total miles. Each state line shows taxable gallons, tax-paid gallons, the rate, and what you owe — or what's coming back.

04

Print the report

A filing-ready breakdown for every jurisdiction with the total at the bottom. Print it, save it as a PDF, or send it to your accountant.

Why use this one

Just a calculator. No accounts, no upsells.

Most IFTA tools are bait for something else — a TMS, an ELD, a subscription. This one is the calculator. Run the math, print the report, get back on the road.

01

Free. All of it.

No premium tier hiding the answer. The full calculation, the full breakdown, and the printable report are free. They'll stay free.

02

Built around what IFTA actually wants

Miles by jurisdiction. Gallons by jurisdiction. Tax-paid gallons subtracted at each state's rate. Net owed or refund summed across the quarter. That's the IFTA formula. That's all this does.

03

Current rates from IFTACH

Rates come from IFTACH and update each quarter when new ones post. The numbers here are a sanity check, not a filed return. Have your accountant verify before you submit.

Also on the site.

Calculator's the main thing. The rest is reference, in case you need it.
